Common building defects in Austral NSW

The photographs on this site come from thirty five Austral inspections, and they group by stage rather than by builder, which is what you would expect in a suburb with this many separate builders. At slab it is cover, beam steel and formwork. At frame it is steel sections, tie down bolts and noggings. At lock-up it is sarking, expansion joints and weep holes. At waterproofing it is the puddle flange. At handover it is clearances, control joints and capping. The consistency across different builders is the useful part: these are stage problems, not builder problems.
