Wet area waterproofing in Austral NSW
Most people have never heard of a puddle flange, and it is the fitting our Austral wet area findings keep coming back to. It connects the floor waste to the waterproofing membrane, so any water that reaches the membrane is taken into the drain rather than travelling sideways beneath the tiles. Set at the wrong height it fails in one of two directions: too high and the falls run away from it, leaving water sitting on the membrane; too low and water passes around the outside of it entirely. We recorded height problems on several Austral jobs, along with hollow unbonded areas and finish levels short at the termination.
